Museum of Illustration

My experience with the visit to the Museum of Illustration was very fun and interesting. The workshop we had with david curtis was very intriguing; he's art skill were very obvious shown in his book covers. i could only imagine the work it required in order to create the type of drawings.to be completely honest, i wasn't so excited for the trip however during the drawing my own book cover, it hooked me i was invested a fair amount of effort to create a cover for the book "to kill a mockingbird". creating the tree on my cover was the fun part, it look pretty realistic to me. also i feel my cover portrays the novel explores themes of racism, prejudice, and the importance of moral courage because the the lynching tree represents the racism and prejudice and the cover portrays how the mockingbird is flying away from the tree representing destructive nature of injustice against the innocent, represented by the "mockingbird" metaphor. i thought the museum was very...

Photoshop blend modes

Image
I learned that the tool "Blending modes" in Photoshop modify the appearance of layers by combining pixels from different layers and also learn some few keyboard shortcuts like how to copy a layer which is Cmd J which takes a copy of the layer which was very useful because we need 27 layers to use all the blend tools. also i learn that if i hold shift and cick on the first layer and last layer it selects all the layers in between which was very useful because i could change all the size in order to put more layer on canvas. i liked the Vivid Light which adjusts the contrast of the lower layer by dodging or burning pixels based on the brightness of the upper layer and is the 2 column and 3 row. i could use blending modes for creating unique textures, enhancing color combinations, manipulating lighting effects shown with the image above as some are lighter then others and there different texture based on the modes and different colors. i also can use blending modes for cre...

Picasso Painting

Image
My experience with this project was interesting and fun.Overtime, the project grew on me, i started enjoying creating the drawing using the brush tool on Adobe Photoshop. The Brush tool in Photoshop is  a painting tool that lets you apply color to an image using strokes which can be accessed by pressing on "B" to select the brush tool. Reflecting on my brush technique in Adobe Photoshop, The brush tool in Photoshop allows me to experiment with texture, opacity, size, and pressure sensitivity. I use a variety of brushes depending on the colors of the painting. One important part of the brush tool for me is the sensitivity of my mouse is essential for achieving straighter stroke giving my work a hand-drawn feel because i have more control by lowering my sensitivity. when blending colors using the mixing brush helped me mix colors for a better real world color. For more abstract work or to add texture, I also use a textured brush or one that had dry or water color for a re...
